Yesterday 2026 Nobel Prize in medicine and Physiology awarded to Karl Deisseroth, Peter Hegemann and Georg Nagel. I have to go back to read Peter Hegemann's review that twenty years ago, Lynn T. Landmesser and Stefan Herlitze in Case Reserve University, USA; Hiromu Yawo in Japan; Pan, Zhuo-Hua in Wayne State University apply the channelrhodopsin to other species. All these labs contribute pioneer to the era of optogenetics. In addition, John Spudich in University of Texas Medical School at Houston discover many optogenetic tools all these years.
